Our Staff
Pennington Presbyterian Nursery School has a staff comprised of director Hope Anderson, eleven classroom teachers and a special music instructor. Each class is led by a head teacher and assistant teacher. Teacher to student ratios are a maximum of 1:5 in the two-year-old classes, 1:8 in the three-year-old classes, and 1:9 in the four-year-old classes. All head teachers are college graduates with either teaching certificates or the CDA credential in early childhood development. The staff attends continuing educational seminars, classes, conferences and in-school presentations throughout the year to keep themselves updated on the latest research, instructional techniques, and classroom health and safety requirements.
Our music teacher has bachelor's and advanced degrees in early childhood music education and plays a wide variety of instruments. Weekly music classes feature movement, rhythm, musical games, introduction to playing instruments, singing, and participating in musical games.
Hope Anderson taught classes at PPNS for sixteen years before becoming the director in July 2005. She holds a bachelor's degree in english literature as well as a preschool through eighth grade teaching certificate. Before becoming a teacher, Hope held management positions in the business world.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated staff who love children and are honored to be in the teaching profession.
