Pennington Presbyterian Nursery School is a non-profit, church-related nursery school open to children of all racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds from ages 2 to 5 years old. The school year runs from September to mid-June with holidays and vacations generally following the Hopewell Valley Regional School District calendar.
The Nursery School is organized to offer experiences based on sound principles of Christian and early childhood education, which provide for social, emotional, physical, mental and spiritual growth of the child. Four-year-olds participate in specially planned learning centers which provide opportunities to gain new concepts in the areas of reading readiness, math awareness, and science. All children are actively involved throughout the day, developing problem-solving skills as they play and investigate the world around them.
A child's work is play. Play provides the child with tools to explore and experience, perceive and achieve, grow and mature. Children have ample opportunity to express themselves through art materials, clay, collage, music, rhythms and stories. By entering into dramatic play and through retelling of experiences, children build language skills and the ability to communicate with others. Both large and small muscle coordination are developed through appropriate activities.
Each session of four-year-olds is planned for an enrollment of 18 children. The three-year-old groups are planned for an enrollment of no more than 16 children and the two-year-old groups, 10 children. Registration information is distributed in mid-January, with registration following on designated days in January. Information regarding classes and application forms may be obtained from the Nursery School Office. Scholarships are available through the Nursery School Board by contacting Director Hope Anderson at 609-737-6622, ext. 12.

Our new directors' corner, honoring our past directors Bev Thurman, Wendy Pfeffer, Marty Scheirer and Barbara McQuoid, is a pleasant place to enjoy the sun, read, and rest on the benches while you wait for your child. Please stop by and enjoy this area whenever you wish!

Parking Announcement!
We have staggered our class arrival and dismissal times this year to allow more parking in our school lot. If you plan to stay and use the playground after morning classes, you may park on Main Street for one hour. Otherwise, please try to leave the school parking lot promptly after you drop off or pick up your child so the next group of parents can find parking spaces. Thanks so much for you help!
